City of Nuremberg Honors US War Crimes
In November 2010, the city of Nuremberg inaugurated a museum directly above the main Nuremberg courtroom where leading Nazi war criminals were tried after World War Two. The Mayor invited the 91 year-old Ben Ferencz, the sole surviving Chief Prosecutor - to return to the scene where, in 1947. at age 27, he had convicted 22 Nazi mass murderers (Einsatzgruppen) of having deliberately slaughtered more than a million innocent men, woman and children. The program organized and led by human rights professor Rainer Huhle of Nuremberg, received sustained applause.
